Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever
things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever
things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever
things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if
there be any praise, think on these things.

things, which is the head, even Christ:

1Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,
that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed.
Isaiah 53: 4-5
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet
we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised
for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon
him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Numbers 21:8-9 8
And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent,
and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every
one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.  9And
Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it
came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he
beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even
so must the Son of man be lifted up:

Joshua 1:8

Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful (anxious or worried) for nothing; but in every
thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your
requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus.
1Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
John 10:9-11
9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be
saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.  10...I am
come that they might have life, and that they might have it
more abundantly.  11I am the good shepherd: the good
shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
Matthew 6:25-34
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life,
what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your
body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat,
and the body than raiment?  26Behold the fowls of the air:
for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into
barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not
much better than they?  27Which of you by taking thought
can add one cubit unto his stature?  28And why take ye
thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how
they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  29And yet I
say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not
arrayed like one of these.  30Wherefore, if God so clothe
the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast
into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of
little faith?  31Therefore take no thought, saying, What
shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall
we be clothed?  32(For after all these things do the
Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye
have need of all these things.  33But seek ye first the
kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these
things shall be added unto you.  34Take therefore no
thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought
for the things of itself....
Psalm 91
1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  2I will say of the
LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I
trust.  3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the
fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.  4He shall cover
thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou
trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.  5Thou shalt
not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that
flieth by day;  6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in
darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy
right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.  8Only with
thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the
wicked.  9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my
refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;  10There shall
no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy
dwelling.  11For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.  12They shall bear thee up in
their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion
and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.  14Because
he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I
will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with
him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.  16With
long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

2For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word,
the same is a perfect man

and able also to bridle the whole body

3Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths that they may
obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

4Behold also the ships
which though they be so                      great, and are driven of
fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm

whithersoever the governor listeth.

5Even so the tongue
is a little member, and                          boasteth great things.

Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!  6And the
tongue is a fire,             a world of iniquity: so is the tongue

among our members
that it defileth the whole body

and setteth on fire the course of nature
and it is set on fire of hell.

7For every kind of beasts, and of birds,
and of serpents, and of things in the sea,
is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

8But the tongue can no man tame
it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

9Therewith bless we God, even the Father;
and therewith curse we men, which are made after the
similitude of God.

10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing

and cursing.

My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

11Doth a fountain
send forth at the same
place sweet water and bitter?

12Can the fig tree, my brethren,
bear olive berries ? either a vine, figs?

so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

13Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you?
let him shew out of a good conversation his works with
meekness of wisdom.

thy mouth .
